Privacy

Plain-language summary of what MacBid stores. Have a lawyer review this before taking live payments.

What we store

  • Listings. The link you submit and the public information we fetch about the app — its name, description, icon, version and category.
  • Bids. The amount, the time, and the payment identifiers our payment provider returns, so a rank can be traced to a payment.
  • Clicks. A count per listing, plus a short-lived salted hash used only to avoid counting the same visitor twice.

What we do not store

  • No card details. Payment information goes directly to Creem and never reaches our servers.
  • No raw IP addresses. Click de-duplication uses a salted hash, and those rows are pruned.
  • No accounts, no passwords, no cross-site tracking, and no advertising profiles.

What is public

A listing, its rank and the amount paid for it are public — that is the point of the board. The email address attached to a payment is not shown publicly.

Support

Questions, corrections, or a problem with a payment — write to hey@macbid.app. We answer within three business days.

Outbound links

Clicking a listing sends you to the submitted URL with an attribution parameter added, so the app’s owner can see the traffic in their own analytics. Once you leave, that site’s privacy policy applies.
